Walker Tower is the second building by the renowned Art Deco Architect Ralph Walker that Skyline has done. When Michael Stern bought the upper portion of an old telephone company building, what struck him was the unobstructed views, and he was convinced that the windows needed to be as big as they could be made.

When the project Architect, CetraRuddy couldn’t find anything to meet his wants, the consultants, IBANY, pointed them to Skyline.

We used our Series 1200SG Crank operated Tilt and Turn window, that can handle over 400 pounds of glass, with triple muntins, custom pannings, and steel reinforcement where needed. Skyline was able to make oversize operable windows, some over 4 feet wide and 9 feet tall, with heavy acoustic glass, that have helped Walker Tower become one of the most talked about residential conversion projects in New York City.

The 1200SG allows these huge windows to perform structurally, acoustically and for energy, while being operated with one hand.

We are now doing the next project with this developer, using the same window in another telephone company conversion.

We are proud to be the window solution company for Walker Tower. Working with JDS Development on a game changing project like this is what we excel at.
